July 2015

From Our President

Greetings in Jesus Name,

These have been days of troubling events in our Nation with the recent supreme court rulings. If there has ever been a day when we needed a great awakening in America it is right now. The powers of evil and darkness are growing. However, in the midst of it all the Lord is still in control and the light of the gospel shines brightly. This is a day for Christians to manifest Christian love to all people. Hate speech has no place in the lives of God's people.

I want to urge you to begin now praying earnestly for our 2016 camp meeting. We have a great team of evangelists but above all we need the presence and power of almighty God.

For your encouragement, the last two camp meetings I have participated in this year have seen one of the greatest moves toward God I have witnessed in many years. My prayer is that God will visit us once again with His presence and power. Your presence and prayers are vitally important.

Warm regards,

-- Thomas H. Hermiz

God wants to sanctify us so that we may live God-worshiping lives, "Therefore he who rejects this does not reject man, but God, who has also given us His Holy Spirit." (v.8, NKJV)
  • A sanctified life worships God as a living sacrifice.
  • A sanctified life worships God through "being" in His Presence.
  • A sanctified life worships God through holy living.
  • A sanctified life worships God through perfect love.
  • A sanctified life worships God through giving.
  • A sanctified life worships God through sexual integrity in holy marriage, one man with one woman for life.
  • A sanctified life worships God through family life.
  • A sanctified life worships God through work.
  • A sanctified life will worship God throughout eternity.

The Strange Preacher's Kid

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For the righteousness of God is revealed in the gospel from faith to faith, just as it is written, “The righteous by faith will live.” --Romans 1:16-17 NET

God's righteousness is revealed in the gospel through faith. As people come to Christ, only then will righteousness be revealed to them. It does not come from our words. Our mission is to bring others to Christ and let HIM do the work.

A discussion with a teen:

Q: Isn't it rather binary to say you are either on Satan's side or God's side? You don't have to worship Satan just because you don't believe in God.
A: It IS binary--you are either in God or you are not.

Q: If you only knew all the things I have thought and done. I am not worthy of forgiveness. I can't be forgiven.
A: How arrogant can you be that you think you can sin so badly that God cannot forgive you?

Q: I just don't get it. Why do I have to change who I am just to believe in God?
A: You don't have to change. God accepts you as you are. If you need changing, HE will make the changes.
